Semantic Web is going to progress the Internet to the next level
at the pace technology is going... this change is come in my lifetime

the world is going to change when computers are going to do ALL the work
'intelligent agents' will analyze data on the web and change the tech/market environment
I'm worried about the possibility of our every day lives being handled by machines

my concerns:
I don't want any censorship of the information i'm receiving &
I hope no one takes away free speech on the internet

QUESTIONs for RICK:
why'd you choose your profession ? is there a satisfaction?
how does the economy affect you and your business?
how do you feel about the future of web-design?

shit, i feel like i've seen a lot in my lifetime and i'm only 21.
with the economy going downtown... i wonder what's next
great depression? world war 3? terrorist strike? natural disaster? end of the world?
i wanna see some chaos

I've been busy pursuing my interests but,
Im anxious to start playing with Dreamweaver
the only way to learn something is to play with it, make mistakes and learn
also, practice, practice, practice
I'm looking forward to designing a new website my personal art & my band.
I want em to be professional & perfect.. I want to draw ideas on paper & translate em to Dreamweaver.

September 22th

If you haven't found out yet...

Paper prototyping works because it's sufficient, efficient, and proficient.

No really, it works very well for many reasons.

It allows you to be creative... you can do what you want, how you want.
Being creative is what's up
It'd be ideal to create different versions of something beautiful& receive feedback on whatever was working.
When you got a design that's happening, it's time to show off.

Communication is important to a relationship & it's key to composing a tight design.

The best way to communicate your design/usability ideas is through an interactive visual presentation.  Using a realistic prototype will uncover any issues or problems.
It saves time & money. Quite a value.
Any alternatives can be suggested and other priorities can be addressed.

It works.

a team that works together wins together (Go Giants!)
Individual hustle, team communication, & charismatic leadership wins championships.
if you're losing you gotta fix the problem.
Criticism is not for the weak... I like criticism because it's REAL talk, it helps me improve myself.
if you're on the same team You gotta be REAL with each other because you gotta put out the best product.

Don't settle for mediocrity

SEPTEMBER 15

the first assignment.
bear with me.
few days ago, I whipped out my pen and jotted down the websites that I frequent

myspace
facebook
gmail

ya know that's terrible...

so, i re-read the assignment, thought about it, & wrote down something better.

www.fark.com

this would be catergorized underneath a good Info/News website

the purpose of the website is found in the FAQ section.
"What is Fark exactly? Fark is what fills space when mass media runs out of news. Fark is supposed to look like news... but it's not news. It's Fark."

browsing the site is simple & fun.
one page, and a buncha tabs.
choose a specific interest, browse through the headlines, click the link that works for YOU.
the website is clean & the colours are non threatening... the stories are the focus of the site.
searching for information on past stories is easy.
there's really too much interesting shit to read. which is a good thing?

i gotta say this website is great, after browsing through for 15 minutes, i know a little about A LOT. that's a good thing.

it may not be necessary, but maybe in someone's head there's a better colour scheme that could improve the site aesthetically. it could be a fun challenge to work on.

Craigslist.org is the shit
I love it
You can find a lot of sweet deals on this site.
Navigation is simple, but the layout is the ultimate of simple. Craigslist is so easy, my polish uncle could use it.
Search ads from round the world, look for things you want. It's fun hunting down items.
i did find out that you could buy a woman? that's insane... you DO NOT want that, that's like buying an STD. You DO want... concert tickets, instruments, internships.
I use the website quite often & I think it works great. I enjoy bargaining with the buyors and the sellers. also, fun coming up with cool catch phrases for the ads headline.

this would be my ad for selling craigslist
"craigslist.org SIMPLE, SEXY, FUN"
or
"craigslist.org sucks so much my asshole jsut died"

now go check out these sites

a good website for artistic inspiration is

www.DeviantART.com

when i need ideas, i look at other people's work and i get into the mood
the navigation through the site is easy, you can browse all the different creative mediums. it's fairly organized.
all the art on the site is pretty inspiring... there's a lot of talent out there.
the purpose is to recognize those creative types. you can chat with others, get your name out there, and sell your work.
i enjoy reading the news & keeping up to date with art that's happening

www.dictionary.com

usually out of curiosity, i use this site whenever i NEED to know what a word means
i also like using the theasarus when searching for a better word
this website comes in handy when writing an essay and every word counts

i dont have any complaints about it, you type in a word and you get your info
the website gets the job done quickly

i have to hate on my friends photo website

www.christopherwozniak.com

the website is boring... it was designed by someone who just wants to showcase their photos.
the home page needs some mustard
a plain white background for every page and the photos are uneven across the page
site is too bland, the purpose is to exhibit his photographs. but the website makes me feel like it's unprofessional.
i would consider using a different web host, taking time and effort into making the site look fresh, focusing on the photographs.
you can browse the whole site in 2 minutes... it doesn't leave an impression on me
